Reykjavik Iceland

Reykjavik is the capital of Iceland, and the northmost capital in the world with only a population of 120,000.  It is beautiful, fresh, brandnew looking and has a friendly environment.  The people of Iceland only use the energy from earth to light and heat their homes, this also provides clean and safe drinking water for them, without harming the planet.

We were so happy to travel to Iceland in search of the northern lights, sadly the weather was very bad there and we were unlucky enough to not catch them this time but one day we will gaze up at them.  As soon as arriving we knew it would be great, we took day trips to the volcano which erupted last year, the destruction of ash is still visible in the area.  We saw a volcano crater which is frozen and very large.  We visted the Geysers which were beautiful and different to see and the best which was last, we saw the second biggest glacier in Iceland which is sadly melting fast, it was one of the most beautiful and amazing things we have ever seen in our lives!  The photos do not show just how beautiful Iceland really is...

In all it was freezing and we did have some bad luck at the start of the trip, a minor car crash with another car but we were all ok and carried on with our tour, also we got caught in the car whilst a snow storm was happening, which got us stuck for abit but we got out of it safetly :-)

We would defently reccomend a nice trip to Iceland if you can stand the cold weather :-)
